may18th

The class began with Rab's trick.
Even I noticed that he was winking while he was claiming that we weren't paying good attention to what he said, I just thought some dust got into his eye! ((in any case, sorry for being late again!))
In Japan, people seldom wink and I think winking is tend to be considered as obscene (kimoi). This is a good example of nonverbal misinterpretation mentioned in Barna. It is very interesting to know that some gestures and facial expressions have particular meanings which are unique to the region.

About hand waving in Japan, because the gesture has two meaning,"come here" and "go away", I heard that there was a Maneki-neko (cat that brings fortune to people) in Asakusa which waves its hand in opposite way!! Do you get what I mean? The picture on the left is normal Maneki-neko, and the one on the right is for foreigners. It's called Dollar Cat^^haha so cute

Today's psychological test was also interesting, but I felt this time it was 20-30% accurate. When I was drawing the picture, I recalled a picture book I used to have when I was little. I guess that image of the illustration was in my mind while I drew the picture. It was funny that some other classmates had almost the same drawing as mine!!

anyways---
it was fun talking and drinking with some of you at Tomoaki's apartment^^♪
since I was soooo tired from swimming, I think didn't talk much! haha sorry

gotta read Fisher now!
